THE MARRIAGE OF BETTE AND BOO
Christopher Durang’s Obie Award winning comedy paints a demented dystopian portrait of a marriage made in heaven that becomes a living hell in which the hopelessly optimistic Bette and her hapless husband Boo are condemned to live out the perils and pitfalls of life in the company of their epically dysfunctional relatives. Conveyed in a series of dazzlingly inventive interconnected scenes, the play romps wickedly on through three decades of divorce, alcoholism, madness and fatal illness, all treated with the signature brilliance of Durang’s sardonic yet compassionate farcical genius.
THE LIAR

France, 1643: The young gallant Dorante arrives in Paris to seek his fortune. Dashing as he may be, he is also a pathological liar. Instantly smitten by the beguiling beauty of one Clarice whom he haplessly mistakes for her dear best friend, Dorante’s tumbling heap of lies in pursuit of love launches an avalanche of comic confusion that engulfs servants, friends and lovers alike. For John Proctor, a respected citizen of Salem, a personal moment of weakness inadvertently unleashes a lethal wave of hysteria that threaten the fortunes of an entire community and the lives of those innocently swept up in the fearful undertow of irrational accusation. Temple Theaters presents Arthur Miller’s epic, enduring classic based on the infamous Salem Witch Trials of 1692. Originally inspired by his personal reaction to the McCarthy era of political witch hunting, Miller’s theatrical masterpiece still cuts to the very bone of our current moral, political and global climate of paranoia, suspicion, and the demonization of the zeitgeist.

A former pro soccer referee seeks to rebuild his life after suffering a freak attack by a crazed female fan that leaves him a bit short in the…well…ah, let’s just say among other things, dating has become a major challenge for poor Owen since the incident. Take a dark comic tumble down Philadelphia playwright Davey Strattan White’s eerily suspenseful and wildly funny rabbit hole of good intentions gone badly as Owen encounters a cast of crazed and ruthless characters looking for love and acceptance in all the wrong places.
